During my internship at 417 Magazine, I produced a series of illustrations for the 2019 June feature “Summer Nights.” I used a watercolor and hand-drawn style to convey the magic and simplicity of a warm evening in summer. By creating illustrations which would be used as independent imagery to accompany a story or segment as well as illustrations that would be combined with a photograph, I was able to add a whimsical touch to the design of the feature. This magical mood was wrapped up nicely with the illustrated opener.
